If you could have the dealer install the tow package it would be very expensive. It requires changing the ring gear and pinion, adding the auto leveling hardware and control circuitry, changing the BCM, replacing the instrument cluster and other items. It would be cheaper to trade the vehicle in for one with the tow package, which is installed at the factory.
If you aren't sure if you have the tow package, look for the compressor. It is located behind the rear axle, on the left side. It has a flexible rubber shield on it, and has air lines running to the air shocks.

The tow package includes:
Quote:
Includes 3.36 Axle Ratio, HD Battery, Automatic Rear Leveling System, Additional 7-Wire Trailer Harness & Trailer Hitch Receiver.
The tow button is standard and switches the transmission programming.

The Automatic Rear Leveling System = compressor and adjusting shocks. Only the tow packge gets them.

I have the Tow button as all armadas do, but do not have the tow package.

Sounds like a more useful question would be how much would it cost to fit an aftermarket hitch and wiring harness, and what the towing capacity would be in this case. Probably plenty for most uses. How heavy a load are you looking to tow?

I would stick with the Nissan factory hitch and harness, this system integrates seamlessly with the existing systems on the vehicle, and really isn't that much more than an aftermarket hitch and harness. As far as tow capacity, it would be whatever is claimed for a non-tow equipped vehicle (I think it's 6000 #s).

That makes sense. My main point was that the rear differential and air shocks probably aren't worth the cost of retrofitting them.

Are there oil and transmission coolers even on non-tow vehicles? The latter is essential for towing.
