Looks like you are a person who knows what he/she wants. So, you either want to fit 9006 base bulbs into 880 sockets or get yourself a pair of fog lamps that will support 9006 base bulbs and fit them into the factory fog light location. I guess either is possible although the former maybe much easier. It has been done before and its possible to do it again.
A little bit of patience, time and the correct reference can help you overcome this dilemma.
Now another option to consider would be to just purchase a pair of 880 8000k HID bulbs. They sell for less than $15/pair off amazon. As you already know, the HIDs consist of both ballast and bulb. The wattage you have provided is the wattage of the HID ballasts and not the bulb. The bulbs only determine the fitment and the colour of output. If you opt to buy new bulbs, you get to keep your expensive and robust ballasts and address the fitment issue at the same time. Those 9006 bulbs wont go to waste, because you can use them in the auxiliary lamp setup or as spares at some point.
Regarding the fog lamp assembly, I would recommend something of this sort:
Definitely wouldn't recommend shelling out $300 at the dealer for this.
Now, the auxillary lamps on a front bumper guard. Yes, it can be done. Its only limited by your imagination, time and money. If I were you, I would get myself some roof lights. They can throw some light to where you are off to.
Be careful with those heavy front bumpers! The front might sag and you might need to install some heavier springs.
Also, why wouldnt you be able to have all three (lows+highs+fogs) on at the same time? I can have all of them on at the same time!
Now with that said, you are saying that I can use my 9006 bulb that came with my 35watt kit and put it on my 50 or 55 watt Ballast with no issues? The bulbs don't need to be a heavier duty bulb? I figured using my 9006 bulb that came with my 35 watt conversion kit, would blow if I put it on a 50 or 55 watt ballast.
I don't have a fog light switch so I will have to see about getting a factory fog light switch to put next to my Adjustable Pedal switch and my Rear Sonar Sensor Off Switch. There is an open spot there. I believe if my Armada came with the factory fog lights, the fog light switch was on the lever with the headlights, right? Or maybe I am thinking of a newer Armada, but I could have sworn the fog light switch was on the lever and not a switch down by the Rear Sonar Off and Adjustable Pedal switch pad.
you mean something like this?
hit up nyc2005armada. he used one of these ebay projector fog in his armada. he said it was plug and play. and it takes the stock bulb.
your other option is to buy OEM fogs and put the new HID in. I believe the new OEM fogs are made of glass not plastic like before.
