Coding

I searched this forum, and the Gen Disc on the main Armada forum as well. We have two BMW, and on several of the BMW forums there are posts on how to change Electrical Codes to do different things with our vehicles-a good example is folding the mirrors automatically when you turn off the car, or to open them as you put the car in reverse. Another example would be to change the height of the lift gate opening if you have auto open/close. These are all things you can manually change with a serial cable. ON the BMW forum there are downloads and instructions on how to code virtually anything you don't like that is controlled by a computer.

Has anyone here seen anything like this on the Armada forum?

Thanks,

Brian

the CONSULT III is the program that speaks to the nissan canbus, although I am not sure if you can change such things like you are specifying.

for example, there are some adjustments the consult can do to make subtle changes to things (timing, camera alignments, etc).

if you get yourself the service manual, you can read exactly what things the CONSULT can do on the nissan.

If you ever figure out how to adjust the liftgate height, I would love to know. I have to keep mine turned off because it hits my garage door.

Yes I will. It's crazy, but the entire head unit is a critical component in the vehicle which they did not address. It is weak all the way around. The infotainment portion of the Auto industry has been investing tons of money, and we see entry level units have a better tech presence than out 60k trucks.

Yes the head unit and the instrument cluster are the brains of the whole car. Every sensor runs through the instrument cluster.

I agree the audio video tech in the car is ancient. Its the same tech that was introduced in the 2008 model year armada and qx.

Agree it's dated but I really like it as funny as that sounds.

I had the dealer adjust my settings. There are 27 different settings that can be adjusted via the computer. I had my dealer change the settings to allow my doors to auto unlock when shifted into park.

I would love to know what the 27 settings are. Not sure I care about the door lock thing, but others maybe.

Wow! That would be fantastic. Can you point us to the free online service manual for our Amadas?

Thanks...Rev
