Upset 2017 Armada Owner

Hi,

I bought my 2017 Platinum Armada new last month and I see the 2018 has updated Nav and Center display unit and now I want that.

Would it be more cost efficient to replace the units or trade my vehicle in for the new one?

Ugh I am so aggravated.

Love my vehicle either way.

Thanks!

EDIT: Heres link to the new unit in 2018's:

Can these be retrofitted to our vehicles?

First I have heard there was any change to the NAV for 2018. Interesting. Did you actually see an 18 Armada?

I should of linked it.

I have edited original post.

Do you think our 2017's can be upgraded to this unit or is only solution trade in for a 18?

I think either way you're going to put $10K+ into the upgrade. I might simply elect to be content with what I had.

Curious if it's a whole new display unit or upgraded software? It really looks nice from that video and others I have seen on Youtube.

New buttons etc. Has to be a new unit. I wonder if its plug and play into our systems.

Its frustrating we buy brand new flagship and they change it after 1 year.

Im really bummed about it.

I am and most likely probably will have to be. Very frustrating though.

That is interesting. That new center display looks good.

Sorry you feel bumped. But sadly I am not really surprised since the first year of any new body style will usually see upgrades really quick with the following years. Just did not know it would be this quick.

Also, Nissan customers have truly complained a lot about how the current display could do with some upgrades since most of the other manufacturers are way ahead of Nissan in that department. So, it is about time they do the long awaited upgrade(s).

If you trade it in you will lose a lot I am sure. And maybe do not even be worried. Who knows? 2019 and or 2020 may bring new things to the table.

Remember this is really not a new vehicle, having been around in the rest of the world since about 2010. Updates should be no surprise.

It looks like they're switching over to a version of the Infiniti "InTouch" software. While definitely a little more graphical than the current version, it won't be a substantial improvement. The single screen InTouch software is nothing to get too excited over. The InTouch in my Q50, which utilizes two screens, would be a major improvement over the current QX80/Armada system.

My only bit of jealousy over this system would be the potential for improved map/traffic coverage. On our QX80, we get pretty limited traffic information on the map. My Q50 provides visible traffic information for significantly more roads than our QX80. That would be a pretty significant improvement, in my opinion.

From the video, it looks like it has Nissan Connect which I would have liked included in our 17s. Id guess Apple CarPlay would be standard as well.
