How to open rear hatch window?

Does anybody know how to open the rear window without opening the entire lift gate on a 2018 SL?

This car is designed off the patrol and the back window does not open on its own like the first gen armada.

Lack of opening the rear hatch window separately, lack of "venting" the rear windows, and the seats not folding completely flat are the only "downgrades" of the 2018 vs our old 2008. Other than that, we love the new model more every day.

I guess this begs the question: Why would the Nissan Engineers, design such "downgrades"? Those features are so desirable....

Beats me. The first gen was designed for the US market specifically. So maybe that's why it had those features. Instead of designing a full replacement, Nissan just put an Armada badge on their global Patrol. Great truck, just designed for a different market initially.

Just saw through an email that I am subscribed to this thread. Why did you erase my response to this. I was the first to reply. IIRC I said something along the lines of.

"Is that even a thing? I'm pretty sure you can't open the rear window."

Why on earth would that post be censored?

Not sure what you’re on about— this site does not censor posts. I cant speak for other admins/mods but i dont see anything that was deleted in this thread.

Companies do things for whatever reason. Apple removed the headphone jack, much to the dismay of millions of people, but people still buy their devices and just add another dongle.

I personally dont care for the rear hatch being open and am happy to see it removed. Perhaps Nissan had complaints from other users over the years that the glass would break because someone was closing the window to quickly or perhaps it was to strengthen the rear door... who knows, but we all cant be happy and there’s no one car made that can please everyone.

Could just be a glitch I suppose. I am telling you though I absolutely posted in this thread. It was not a groundbreaking helpful post by any stretch of the imagination, so I just ignored it's deletion. Or what I thought was it's deletion. I was going to ask about it before, but figured why bother as there didn't seem much point as this thread wasn't going to go anywhere anyhow.

Carry on.
