Compartment mounted GPS *Pics up*

Wired up and semi hard mounted my GPS.
Had to tap into some power.

Mounted a 12volt outlet in one of the flip downs so if I ever decide to upgrade it's just plug and play. Outlet can also be used for any 12 accessory if needed.

GPS mount is installed with industrial strength 3-M double sided tape. GPS clips in and 'out' if needed.

Fliped up and out of sight. Next move is a micro switch so it turns on automatically when opened and off when closed. Works great so far.

Installed a micro-switch that triggers on the compartment door. Turns unit on when opened and off when closed.

Thank you sir.
I use the small flip down compartment right after the digital compass for my sunglass now .
I put a very low amp fuse (4amps) in the micro switch circuit just in case.
While I was in the overheads I went ahead and got the wiring ready for when I install the overhead DVD monitor.

Nice addition with the micro switch 97trakin...That does look clean. Is it not too high for you to see well?

It's not bad at all. It's lower and forward of the factory compass.

That's pretty cool....I wonder if a larger/wider GPS will look better.

I really like the micro switch idea, that's awesome

I clipped my father-inlaw's wide screen in and it looks really nice. Really fills the space width wise.
