Pioneer TS-SW841D Shallow-Mount 8" Subwoofers in Custom Underseat Enclosures

Originally bought a 10" Pioneer ib-flat Shallow Mount subwoofer squeezed in under the driver's seat, however we couldn't get enough airspace out of the enclosure. So I opted for a pair of 8's with a molded fibreglass bottom instead, here are some pics of the enclosures being built.

So sorry man, I got an amazing deal on the 8's. Soundworks in Burnaby, BC did the work for me. They spent about 9-10 hours building the 2 boxes for me. It sounds awesome now!

I'm debating on keeping the 10" and getting a new custom made box to fit inside the cargo area storage compartment (where the tire wrench is). The only concern I have is that I would have to put a grill on the sub, as I use the trunk area for strollers and what not.

i hear good things about them. how much they charge?

don't you have the navi under the passenger seat? so you had to shorten the length of the box, correct?

we have same setup, as i have the same amp too, biter lol...

Haha, I wanted 8's and ONLY Pioneer makes shallow mount 8's. I was going to go with JL 8's, but they need 4" of clearance. I originally wanted the Pioneer GM-D8500M amp, but once again I got a smoking deal on the Alpine. I had to give up the Variable Bass Boost controller with the Alpine, now I just turn the Bass down all the way.

Consider it a huge compliment the I ended up going with the same setup as you did. Hahaha!

Soundworks does REALLY GOOD work. They stand behind their work. I wasn't happy with how the 10" sounded, so they worked me a hell of a deal to make the 8's sound EXACTLY how I wanted it to sound. I'd highly recommend them, just ask for Jamie (the owner)!

The Navi uses the HDD for the maps, so the passenger seat was empty.

Can you get the dimensions for both boxes and air-space they used. I want 12s but family want allow. So I'm going with to JL Audio 10w1 custom box in rear with 5" depth but considering of adding two boxes in front seat so I can have good adequate bass.
