Replacing wiper column

I had to order a new windsheild wiper column and was wanting to know if you have to take the steering wheel off or can you just replace ii by removing the cover around the steering column? Thanks in advance!

Replacing wiper column

Well if is the stalk only You just have to take off the cover. It is 4 bolts.

Very easy install.. Thanks for the advice.. On my 04 Armada just 3 screws under the steering wheel and snap the cover off.
