Clicking Vent

There sounds like a vent in my dash that doesnt seem to be closing or opening freely. I get a clicking noise sometimes when I first turn on the mada or even switch vent modes. Has anyone experienced this? The noise stops in about a minute. I'm thinking the only way to fix this is opening up the dash.

There are lots of posts on this problem. Could be a mixer valve on the firewall (easy to replace, so hope this is the problem), or a bad flapper in the dashboard (hard to replace, pray this isn't the problem).

Do a search on "woodpecker"; you'll find a bunch of threads discussing this.
