Tranny Gauge near pegged when going up hill.

I was just wondering if it's normal for my tranny gauge to be neared the pegged position when going up hill not towing anything but with atleast 5 people in the car. Mind you this is keeping it in "D" and not downshifting. Is it recommended that I down shift? It feels like there is a loss of power when this happens.

I had a similar situation and found that I was low on transmission fluid. I brought it back up to full until I get it in for a service and that remedied the problem.

It's NOT normal. Check your fluid level.

Mine will move a little if I'm climbing a long hill in 5th gear. I would check your fluid level, and that there isn't anything blocking your radiator.
