CVT tranny in Armada?

I was talking to the local dealer about the cost of a complete transmission fluid drain and fill in my 2005 Armada ($140) and he then mentioned something about a CVT transmission fluid exchange and it would cost $330?? I was under the assumption that the Armada did not have a CVT tranny. He almost sounded unsure of himself as he was looking up the prices. Can someone please clear this up for me?

No it has a 5 speed Jatco (iirc) automatic transmission. I would get my car asap and never take it back there.

PREACH! I hope they throw us a bone and give us another gear or two though. But keep that CVT stuff far FAR away from the Armada!

CVT in an Armada, oh heck no. I have on in my 13 Altima and its not bad once you get use to it, but to put one in the beast, that where you would see a picture of the truck with FAIL written underneath.

I would never bring my truck back to that dealer. They don't even know what tranny our trucks have which make me wonder if they know what they are doing.

He would say, 2... and then: "Wait.. yours is a 4WD, right? Then it must have 4". LOL. He will seem a bit confused as he checks the prices.

Although it doesn't have a CVT, it is important to have the muffler bearing, Johnson rod, and flux capacitor serviced regularly.

If they offer those services, avail yourself of them.

I drove a rental Rogue for a few days that had the CVT tranny.

It felt really fast getting on the highway but I never got used to the rubber band feel of no shifts.

It would definitely detract from the fun while driving the Armada.
