Vehicle Info Display error

File under weird but have a unique issue. Have a 2WD 2009 Armada LE with 25k miles - Several days ago the 4WD light began to light-up to about half of a full glow. Have tried everything to get it off but no luck.. Dealer says the entire vehicle information display must be replaced at a cost of around $1,600. PLEASE HELP with suggestions....?? What could cause that light to light up or appear lite up when there is no 4WD on this beast?

How old is your battery? I can't say for certain this is the cause, but I do know from experience that weird things happen with our trucks when the battery is nearing the end of its life.

Battery is probably around 2 1/2 years. First 2 OEM batteries failed at about 2 years and again a little over 1 year later.

Thought about disconnecting battery and seeing if a total cold reboot might reset the light or whole system. If that fails to work, a battery replacement might not be a bad idea, even if the voltage checks as ok, imagine it could be just weak enough to cause some glitches. Read that same thing some where else.

THANKS for the response and suggestion!

I had a similar issue. Battery was almost dead when I tried to start the vehicle. Upon next attempt vehicle came on but 4wd light was on. I was like WTF gotta replace battery + take to dealer for 4wd issue.

replaced battery and 4wd light went off and has not come on since.
