Nissan Matic S discontinued?

I was looking for the best price on Matic S and found TheNismoShop has 2 bottles. InfinitiPartsUSA lists it as not available. I read on a forum from March that it is being discontinued. Any word? Is Nissan releasing a new fluid to raise the price? I emailed InfinitiPartsUSA and asked when they were getting it back in. I'll update if/when I get a response.

Hey guys, I just did the transmission fluid flush and put some matic s (7quarts). I took it out for a spin right after and transmission start slipping. I put the 4wd so I can move forward since I was stuck at a stop sign. It felt really rough fo I go back to 2wd and transmission is back to work. However my 4wd is not working properly.

I just emptied the transmission fluid and put the matic s. Did I miss a step?

I called around the dealers around here and they wanted $22 - $25 / quart for the ATP transmission fluid? Is the price reasonable? I recently replaced ATP fluid on my wife's Mazda with OEM ATP fluid and it only cost $8/quart. I ended up ordering from Amsoil for my Mada. Can't wait for the Amsoil to arrive.

Guy's Amsoil is a great fluid but really ANY synthetic trans fluid is acceptable....Maxlife is the fluid of choice for the money. I have seen the oil analaysis and "Matic-whatever" is lower than just about every synthetic trans fluid available.

I use Valvoline Maxlife ($7/qt at Advance Auto) and it works just fine. Claims Matic-S compliance right on the bottle.
