Transgo & PML installed
Finally got around to putting in the Transgo and PML pan on my 09 QX56. This is the second RE5R05A kit I have installed. My previous car was an 03 FX45 that I did my first Transgo install on. Took just over 4 hours this time, working alone with a lift. The instructions provided with the kit are pretty good, so any DIY'er hesitant to do this job themselves, I'd say give it a go. All that is needed is a basic tool kit and a drill.
The Transgo performs exactly how I thought it would. Normal driving it isn't even noticeable. Give it any more than 20% or so throttle and you can definitely feel the increased shift speed. It isn't so jerky that it shakes the car, but it's apparent that it's not a stock transmission anymore.
The PML pan is great. I did not have a gauge for my transmission temp prior to the new pan and I don't have an after temperature. Here in the daily 90* days, I like to think that it's keeping it cooler. Fit and finish are spot on. It took 12 quarts of Amsoil to fill her up once I was done.
