What can this be used for? Can an MP3 player be plugged into this? What are you guys using it for? Just curious.
Exactly, I have my MP3 or MYFI XM Radio unit plugged into it when I want to. Works great. All you need is a little cord from Radio Shack or the like costs less than $6 and sounds good too.

I plug my Ipod in. It takes a similar input signal that you get from a headphone out. So you can get a double male headphone plug and plug into any headphone jack for example. :D

Me, too. The iPod output is a little weak - needs to be near full output and Bose volume need to be pretty high to hear it well.

Yep, Sirius Radio works very nice through it.

I'm glad they have the aux input, but I'm totally spoiled by the Alpine head unit in my Z that lets me control the ipod completely. Also gets around the annoying low amp problem and the charging.

I'll have to pick up one of those Belkin chargers. Good find.

IPOD sound weak?

I have been using my ipod shuffle, my ipod mini, and my 5th generation 30 gb. I've never had any problems with a weak signal.

I turn the volume all the way up on the ipod so the "signal" is strong and then adujust the volume on the steering wheel or head unit.

I only have to turn it up 1/4th of the way to get super high quality sound. In fact it sounds better than the built in sirius unit that came with my car. It's even better sound than a CD.

I'm also using a cord I purchased from radio shack. If you're having trouble, it's either with your cord, or your ipod. Try cleaning out the female connectors with a blast of high pressure air, I've often had my ipod's quality decreased due to dust.

Good luck,
Eric

The problem with turning the volume all the way up on the iPod is that it drains the battery quicker.

True, if you're charging at the same time, it's not a problem. But then Belkin has a device that has an amplifier in it for *some* reason. ; )
