Just finished a 4k miles round trip road trip, and she drove like a dream. I'm itching to buy the 23 Toyota Sequoia, maybe a yukon xl but the prices on those are insane right now. I will be taking more 4k mile road trips.

What maintenance should I worry about on this thing to keep it going another 50k? Ive done the plugs, and serpentine tensioner\belt already. Was thinking of flushing the radiator soon, and tranny. Anything else to worry about? really don't feel like spending 80k on a new SUV...

Looks like you’ve got everything covered so far. Prior to moving down to TX last July, the majority of the mileage my QX80 saw was NYC-stop and go traffic. I've always been OCD when it comes to maintaining our cars, suvs, etc. I've always changed drivetrain, coolant and engine fluids earlier than recommended. I don't believe in "lifetime" fluids. Even with spark plugs, I would change those routinely around 50-60K miles just because of the driving environment.

Btw, I share the same sentiment with the exorbitant prices of what cars cost nowadays, but it is what it is. Our oldest will be driving soon so I'm passing down the QX80. We recently queued for the Rivian R1S and for the past couple of weeks, I've been test driving multiple full-size suvs and a random M760i. One thing is for sure, no way will I ever pay 70-100K for a Jeep and especially nowhere near what Infiniti is asking for a new QX80. So far, the Denali Ultimate and Sequoia Capstone are my two favorites.

yeah man it's absolutely insane ill wait 3-4 years and buy a good used one for half the cost. I'm paranoid about maintenance as well. I'm worried about other parts failing, the starter, alternator, fuel pump, or whatever. I normally don't keep cars past 100k but the way the market is right now ill have to keep the qx80 for a bit. Denali is nice just afraid of the lifter issues they are experiencing, Sequoia is nice just seems smaller than the QX. Id really lice the Escalade esv or suburban I can use the extra room but I'm afraid of GM products. lol

Prices really are insane and I really doubt it'll get any better. Also, I personally feel these newer vehicles are not made to last as I like to keep my car/suv for as along as I can. Everything just feels delicate, especially the interiors and I'm not a fan of "piano" keys/buttons in place of shifters that some of these new cars come with.

The Sequoia definitely has more room than the QX. It almost feels as roomier, if not more than the first gen WA/JA60s which I loved on the 04. I do admire GM being pro-active in taking care of the lifter issues because had this been Nissan facing this problem, it'd only be a TSB with thicker oil recommendations. Lol.

Long story short, I actually had a '15 Escalade, premium with the Kona interior which I ended up selling and led me to the QX80. I tell everyone that Escalade was definitely built on a Friday, last truck on the line and was likely put-together by part-time employees. It literally had every issue the 4th gen K2XX/XL chassis were being reported and known for. I didn't even have it for more than 6 months because it spent plenty of time in service and was just too much of a headache.
