My horn quit working after being down for timing chain, slides, and tensioner replacement. Also the starter was shorted to ground and got the negative cable really hot during crank test. Replaced ECM relay with recall relay in IPDM. Passes all IPDM tests except horn chirp test. Will not work in normal mode either. Ohm test reveals circuit intact from relay base to connector. No voltage to horn period.

Currently-No horn also-
No fog or parking lights, no front hvac compressor clutch engagement, front blower fan power locks, power windows, or headlamps.

Passes all IPDM test except horn chirp at initiation everything else works during test mode.

Any ideas I am time sensitive overdue for leaving the country and tied up with this problem unable to figure out anything. No IPDMs available at dealer nearest one three states away and $755 plus shipping. Not certain the horn test would invalidate the IPDM. Cleaned grounds on body and chassis. No codes everything works normal except the above.

HELP.

What year your truck?
To clarify all these don't work- fog, parking lights, front hvac compressor clutch engagement, front blower fan power locks, power windows, or headlamps. But when you run the test only the horn doesn't work?

Have you tried switching relays? mark them so you don't get them confuse where you pulled them from

Update- 2006 Armada LE
Horn does not work on IPDM auto active test IT DOES NOT CHIRP, nor blow on key fob alarm mode or manual push button on steering wheel. Everything else WORKS. Passes on all IPDM Autop active test except horn chirp upon initialization of test mode. Horn works when jumpered at relay base load side of contact with 12 vdc.

H1 horn relay base reveals continuity between coil side and ground as well as common side of contact.
15 Amp fuse has 12 vdc but also has continuity to ground on the upstream side of fuse holder.

Removed clock spring appears to be shorted to ground internally. Anyone seen this before? Did you have to replace IPDM also?

FYI- Starter shorted to ground previously.

Side effects- no headlights, fog lights, parking lights, windshield wipers, HVAC, front fan blower, power locks, power windows, no condenser fan, no sunroof. Passes all operations on IPDM auto active mode except horn chirp.

Fault 2-
Brake indication lamp
VDC off indication lamp
slip indication lamp
ABS indication lamp

Fault 3-
Rear suspension LL sagging

I’m guessing you tested all the fuses. IPDM is usually associated with a crank but no start issue Does your car start? At this point might as well pull out the IPDM an inspected, check for burnt marks on the Board or burn smell. I would replace the relays since this issue was not there prior to working on it. Also IPDM from the dealership are non existing in my area

Still has brake light on, abs, slip, and vdc off indications and rear leveling is inop by visula inspection. Ima start on that tomorrow while I wait for help on this no horn issue. No horn chirp on auto active ipdm test everything else works on test...

ECU reset, TPMS reset, and checked all grounds, cleaned, and checked all connectors still no horn. Effin a it is time to bbq it I guess. Anyone want a nissan pos?

I was told it is a faulty BCM by an ECU sales rep. I guess it is time to take to the stealership for BCM, flash, ECU update, and ABS re-set. I did not receive any technical guidance or help from this site and for that reason I'm out.... I am going back to oilburners.com where real trucks reside. Thanks for nothing folk.

Dropped of @ dealer today

Horn inop all modes
rear heater coolant leak underneath and behind rr tire

What say you for estimate?

Can they fix it correctly under $1K?
