2008 QX56 wont let key be turned - wheel is also locked as well - HELP!

Hello,
Just bought a qx56 as is. First issue I have to address is the key not turning along with the steering wheel. Car recognizes smart key. Occasionally there will be an error message on the dash with a key lock picture, a left pointing arrow above it, and the work lock above that. No combination of turning the wheel with the physical key in or out of the cylinder will let either budge. Doing research shows that maybe the part number D8701-7S000 is at fault if im right. I also have the 4,000+ page factory manual and was wondering where the plug for the "Steering lock unit" is. Book shows it as a for pin connector but where and which one is it?

Are you certain the key blade is cut to the correct pattern? Have you tried the blade in the door to see if it works in that lock?

Yes, physical key locks and unlocks doors from the outside. Both fobs also fully work.

Just wanted to say I dont know what I did but I got the key nob to unlock. Unplugged the 6 pin grey connector for the key cylinder its self which set off the smart key light. Plugged it back together and it somehow worked. Only issue I have know is when the car is off it gives the lock left arrow message and wont stop beaping about it?

you may have an issue with your vehicle immobilizer system, aka the car alarm. your physical key cylinder may also be faulty.

So I hop in my wife’s 2012 titan to come home from vacation in Florida. The truck is packed everyone’s ready to go try to turn the key and it won’t budge. Tried the usual turn the wheel put it in neutral let it roll dry lube the cylinder but nothing worked. Turned to TitanTalk because you guys...
