2011 Armada makes a clunk sound

Hey everyone, just joined. I have a 2011 Armada platinum that has a terrible clunking sound. I removed the sway bar hoping that would fix it, but no luck. I just got it and it’s definitely a bit rough but I want to bring this thing back to great health.
Lower control arm bushings look rough and the sway bar bushings were shredded so I’m going to swap that all out. Is there anything else I need to check for to get rid of this annoying clunk on the drivers side?
I’ve read tie rods or strut mounts can but I’m no mechanic by any means. I can replace parts though as long as the bank account allows 😂.

Also the brake caliper mount bolts, I ran down my impact and have hammered on a wrench most of the evening and I’m getting nowhere. Any advice?

Welcome. You’re on the right track swapping what looks worn. Hard to determine the clunk you described without hearing it. I would swap out fronts with bilstein 4600 or 5100’s. Basically the same but the 5100 has some height adjustment. Certainly can get a clunk if blown. As far as caliper mounting bolts go, those were installed with factory loctite. My 1/2 inch aircat pneumatic with over 1000 ft lbs of torque struggled with those. A big breaker bar will index them off. They will sound as though they are snapping as you rotate them off. Nissan wasn’t playing when they put those on.

Ok so swapped out control arms because the bushings were shot. Still clunking away. I wouldn’t be worried if I couldn’t feel it underneath me, but I’m going to keep at it until I figure it out. So far I’ve eliminated Swaybar, ball joints and everything else front end looked to be good when I was under it yesterday.
The sound almost sounds like the caliper is hitting the wheel. If I turn it slightly right to straighten the wheels out while driving it will be quiet until it falls back In that range
Any chance it could be the spare tire? See that it is secure and or the jack in the back has come loose.
Definitely secured up there. I’m going to try something next week just to see if my suspicion is correct. Going to put spacers on the front to see if that takes care of it. Everything looked good though to me when I had it on the lift
Mine developed the front end clunk after I put in 4600 Bilsteins, moog zerk swaybar links, and EBC rotors and pads. Been under it several times and still can't figure it out. Hasn't affected ride or braking quality at all.

I get the clunk exclusively at speeds under 35mph. Can happen on straight lines or turns. I can ride over speedbumps with zero noise and then at random it will happen on regular straight roads. I can sometimes get the cluck by standing on the running board and jostling the vehicle but it only happens the first time and seems to " settle" where I can't replicate it.

Often overlooked but the steering rack bushings (x 2) can wear out as well.

When does it clunk? Suspension travel, e.g. going over bumps? Or could it be driveline related - neglecting to grease the u-joints and slip joints is common.

Cheick out .your suspension mounts. My 07 LE had this problem.. I replaced both and the noise is gone.

The noise is localized to the front drivers side so this may be a possibility.

It happens on bumps, it happens when I turn, it happens when I'm just driving straight on a smooth road. There doesn't seem to be a specific movement that causes it.

Since this happened after I put in new struts, brake rotors and pads, swaybar links and bushings; these have been the areas I focused on. I'll take a look at the U and slip joints!

I had checked the ball joints and wishbone bushings. The mounts were among the first things I checked but it couldn't hurt to go over them again.

I’ll look there next I guess lol.
