40k miles. Wife was on a road trip. Stopped for fuel, pulled back out onto the Interstate and BOOM, everything went dead. Hazard lights would not work, no horn, wouldn't start ... totally dead in the water. I drove 3 hours because I thought it was something stupid, like a bad key fob, or dead cell in the battery or loose battery terminal, etc. Nope. It was the 140 amp fuse that sits on back of the battery. Of course, I did not know to look for this. So, we had it towed to the closest Christian Brothers. They found the issue 2 days later and fixed it.
So, I don't put up with a car that puts me on the side of road like that. If it were mine, it would already be traded in. However, it is my wife's vehicle. She does not want to to get rid of it yet. Is this a "known" problem? Or am I just the unlucky turd that got a weak fuse?
Thanks,
CC
