So apparently the stock tire that fits an Armada is a 265/70R18 which only comes in 4 ply. My tire guy says no one makes a 6 or 8 ply tire in that size. So those of you who have 6 or 8 ply tires on your rigs, did you but new rims or what did you do? Thanks!

I believe the Toyo Open Country A/T in that size is 6 ply. I went with the 285/65/18 on the stock wheels which is the same height as the 265/70/18, just a little wider. A warning on these 285 as they are a 10 ply and are a bit heavy.

My Nokian Rotiivas are stock size and 10-ply. Not cheap, but the best all-around tire you can buy.. especially for the sh!tty NH winters we get.

Keep in mind that if you install LT tires on your non-LT factory vehicle, you'll want to increase the tire pressure to more than what is printed on the door placard. I have mine set to 40psi. There is a tire inflation guide for doing the pressure conversion from P to LT tires for a given vehicle.
