2019 2wd Armada with 9k miles in NYC
Debating to purchase Or not I know it’s not 4x4
But anyone know how it does in the snow?
It has some button for a snow mode mode
I’m assuming for more traction...Thanks
I live in Southern California, so we don't get much snow. However, from what I've seen on the Internet, good snow tires are more effective than 4WD in the snow. 4WD helps get you going, but does nothing to help you stop or turn. Snow tires do all of that. Of course, that means an extra expense of an extra set of tires, and likely extra wheels (unless you have the tires swapped on the rims twice a year).
I don't live in snowy areas, however, if you need traction in the snow, you should buy a set of tires that can work well in the snow. As you said above, snow tires will help you all.
If you live in a place with little snow, you can consider all-weather tires, which can help you not to change tires when the winter is over.
Just look for good tires for snow and ice. The Armada is a super heavy vehicle and doesn't move much unless you make it. Used to live in CNY and had 4x4 Armada and rarely switched out of RWD. I will say with some of that NY snow, it doesn't matter what you drive.
