Wife called PISSED this morning. Driving to work she hears a POP. then no radio, cd, nav voice, nothing. Only thing is the nav seems to be working. Can't get CD's out of the player, buttons for radio, aux, cd do nothing. I'm going to take a look, hopefully just a simple fuse. But if it isn't I have an appointment at 2.

If it stays there I am going to demand they give me a loaner. This is not what I expected from Nissan, I could have went domestic for this ****.

Called my sales guy and he seems to want to help.

At least this isn't like the jet ski dealer.

Probably just a fuse.....but what caused it to blow may be an issue.

I checked the fuses...nope. So I went in and they said "your radio blew up" they will have a new one here Tuesday. I suspect a cap popped in the radio. I should take it apart and look cause it sucks listening to nothing while driving, but it is covered under warranty so I'm not messing with it. The service writer also said this is the first one they have seen like this. So hopefully this is NOT a sign of problems to come.

I do get a free tank of gas and detail out of this....I'm happy about that :D

someone here had the same exact problem, and they had to change the entire HU :cool:

Chill, dude. It aint the end of the world. Believe it or not cars do break......even Nissans :p

I'm not freaking out...DUDE.

I understand everything breaks, but I've only owned the truck 3
days. When you drop 45 THOUSAND dollars on something you expect it to work properly. We haven't put more then 20 miles on it.

Probably got the lucky one with the 1 of 10000 that has a bad head unit. Remember, the Bose unit is made by Panasonic. It isn't a top of the line thing. Probably about the same as a $150 aftermarket unit in quality. Sucks that it popped on you, but Nissan doesn't even make it. ;)

So here I am Wednesday. Yesterday new radio was supposed to come in. I called they said it hadn't come in, should be in today or Thursday at the latest. So I'm a little annoyed. Today I call to check and the same guy tells me he checked this morning and the HU's are back ordered. He has 3 others that need them also. No telling when they will be in, but probably next week sometime. I then ask why he can't remove a HU from a mada sitting on the lot "no we can't do that. Warranty says we have to replace with new"

So up the chain I go. I left a message for the service manager. When I talk to him I will explain that this car is brand new and driving a new vehicle with NO sound, radio, nav voice, dvd is unacceptable.

I understand the dealership isn't really at fault, but why should I be driving around in a BRAND NEW vehicle that isn't working 100%. They should have called me this morning to tell me the HU is back ordered, or he should have known on Friday when he ordered the part. 6 of the 7 days I've owned this vehicle have been without a radio.

If this was a vehicle like my old 77z or 83zxt I coule care less because I could listen to the engine while running through the gears, but that is not the case here.

That’s a bummer. I would demand they give you another Mada, or Pfinder or something on those lines until it is fixed. Back ordered HU tells you one thing....they are burning through them.

Strap an exhaust and Air Charger on it..................I like to hear the engine at times more than any music, news etc....etc.

Understand your frustration at Nissan and I sympathize with the added pressure from the wife. On both the truck and a Volvo that we bought, nothing compared to her 95 Honda that NEVER went into the dealership in over 130k of driving. It's a hard pill to swallow that a vehicle costing three times that isn't of comparable initial build quality.

Way to stick to your guns and get the service folks to fix the problem sooner rather than later. Maybe at least gain some credibility back with the wife.

I had a bad cd player in mine took Sheehy of Annapolis almost 4 months to get a new one in....
cd's would play sometime and sometimes not...
I wanted to strangle my salesman when he said "umm just get an mp3 player and plug it in, play what tunes u liek instead of cd's "
lol....

I just got mine replaced mid January of this year...
