Im Own The Armada

I am the owner of the armada (Keith). Custom Motorsports Built the 8" lift with 35x20 wheels and tires. They are one of the best shops to have work on your truck. It was even washed when i picked it up. After picking up my armada i drove it 300 miles to my house. It drove perfect ( strait and all the wheel were balanced perfectly ). I continue to drive it every day and not a even a hint of a problem. I have more picts on http://willy.lewdog.net/armada
I also built a 2004 titan http://performancelifts.com/cgi-bin/cart/CSTTITAN.html

Love the rides. Thanks for breaking the ground on this for all of us. Is your rig a 4x4?

My truck is 2 wheel drive. I don't do any extreme off roading. The lift for the 4 wheel drive is one inch smaller in the front and i am sure Custom Motor Sports can build any size lift for the rear.
I'm curious, how does your Armada do offroad. Some mud, dirt climbs, and sand?
Being a 2WD, does the traction control act as limited slip to get power to both rear wheels? I used to have a 4x4 and got my butt kicked by 2WD with Detroit Lockers. With the rear wheels locked, these guys could climb straight up sand dunes at Pismo Beach.

Raising shouldn't help traction, only allow larger tires and better ground clearance. He has bigger tires but I don't think they would be enough to get better traction than what I have if its 4x2. 4x4 will still beat 4x2 Armadas stock for stock for traction. Detroit lockers are great off road and stink on road. Loud clicks and jerks on the street. Good for drag racing and off road use only. Better still would be air lockers like the ones from ARB. You can install these, and go from a stock to solid axle at the flick of a switch. Gotta be someone making these for us now or soon. http://www.arb.com.au/default.htm?menu.htm&0

PS Also try lowering your pressure to almost nothing on sand. Helps a lot but bring a compressor for the ride home. ;)
