A/F Sensor Heater/closed loop

Hello again...
I´m kind of sad with my A/F Sensor - Problem (as said in Service Engin Soon-Topic)
Seems to be no solution for me.
The consult2 service computer shows the codes 1051 and 1168 which means the AF Sensor right bank / closed loop.
So now the NISSAN technics here in Germany build in a new sensor and restarted the ECM.
They made a testdrive for 10 miles and everything was ok.
But then, when the engine was startet a second time, this same SES signe showed of again.
Infiniti USA told me: sorry we are unable to help you. Bring in your car to an Infiniti Dealership. Unfortunatly we have non in Germany.
The Nissan guys told me that might be a sofware-problem and they need an
update for the QX56 which they can´t get.
My Infiniti Dealer in USA says that he can´t send or sell software for my car.
Infiniti USA says the same.
So my first Question is: Is it a hardwareproblem (the new sensor could also be defect) or a softwareproblem?
Second question: does anybody have an Idear how to handle that problem?

Germany is called a service-dessert - but what I had with Infiniti USA today, is even worth.
Thanks for answers,
Andreas

P.S. there is a service Bulletin out for this particular Problem;
Inifinitihelp.com QX56 2004 Bulletin No. 04012.
"2004 QX56; MIL "ON" WITH DTC P1031, P1051, P1148, P1168
A/F SENSOR HEATER / CLOSED LOOP
from 05.March 04
If have printed it out and given it to the Nissan-Service.
Those guys who installed the new sensor....

I don't know what to tell you, but it seems like this is a service problem when you buy the car from one country and take it to another, is it possible to check out the Nissan dealer in England, they might be able to help. I know its far but what else can you do if nissan Germany unable to help.
Sorry can't help much but can tell you the reason the ses light came on the second time is that there is some kind of two trip setting that if there is a faulty reading the sensor won't go off until it reads the fault a second time. At least that is what the tech told me when I was having problems with my brake control unit.

Hopefully SCR38 will chime in here he might be able to give some ideas as he's pretty well versed in this area.
Thanks, I hope so too. SCR38 might be able to answer at least my first question.
I just can´t understand, why Infinti is so ignorant with a custumer who needs help. And some advice for the Nissan guys here.
And of course I would pay for it. I know there is no warrenty for forrign countrys...

But the must be a way to fix this simple problem AF Sensor.
May be changing the whole ECM?

The problem with the ECM seems to be on 2004 models. Your service people need to check the ECM part number with the list on the TSB to see if your ECM needs to be reprogrammed.
Hello SCR38
Thanks for your answer.
The Nissan Service says that my ECM needs an update / Reprogramming.
They have that exact same "CONSULT2" service computer, that Infiniti uses in USA. But they have not data for the QX.
And my Problem is, that Infiniti USA says: your problem. we can´t help you or your Nissan dealer. we don´t give you any data or upgrade data because you are in Germany. end of discussion....
I try to get to a conclusion by going serveral ways.
1. German Importeurs of Infiniti
2. Nissan Europe
It seems I need either the softwareupdate or may be a complete new ECM
which must come with new data...
Of cause I would pay for all that...
What do you suguest?

The Armada and the QX use the same ECM. They should be able to reprogram the ECM with the Nissan Armada program.
Thanks a lot, I´ll try that...
Now I´m happy

Hi Guys!
Year Year Year!!
Finaly I was sucessfull:
I orderd a new ECM from a very kind and helpfull Infinti dealer (Fields Infiniti of Lake County IL) and the Nissantechs here build it in.
IT WORKS!!
No more close loops or not working sensors - everything is fine now.
Those guys solved at least 98% of the rattles by using the Squeak & and Rattle Kit and the roof - fix - upgrade parts.

So now I realy happy with my car.

The only thing that makes this whole story a disapointing experience is that silly habbit of INFINITI USA - they just did´nt want to help...
They even did not sell that "ASSIST" Progaming CD to my Nissan dealer...
It was a software-problem, thats it. For you happy guys it´s just one drive to the next dealer - for me it was a three-month- battle....

Anyway, thanks to you all for your nice help and sugestions!!!

Andreas, I am happy you finally have the problem solved. It's bad that it took so long. One would think that Infinity would be more helpful.
