I loaded up the race car and headed to the track on Thurs. As I turn into the hotel parking lot I can feel the trailer dragging as if the brakes are locked up. When I get out I see the right rear trailer wheel is about to fall off. Turns out I had a bearing sieze and welded itself to the spindle. Fortunately the garage directly across the street from the hotel was able to repair the trailer the next day.
This could have been a lot worse, the wheel could have came off at 65mph on the highway instead of in a parking lot. Morale of the story; no matter how good your tow vehicle is, always check your trailer bearing before each trip.
