Hey all,

I just got a 2005 Smoke Armada SE 4x4 Offroad with brushguard and sunroof. I almost got an LE but I didn't need the heated seats and other little electric doo dads. I'm stoked. I did the fightingchance.com thing and it paid off fiarly well.

Anyone have any advice to help with the gas mileage on the vehicle? Any other advice or suggestions you all have done to your armadas? Anyone go camping around central Texas? Appreciate your advice.

welcome, first off, there is nothing to help with the gas mileage not even a majic wand. second, check out all the performance, exterior and interior modification threads, and that will give some ideas of what the guys are doing to there rigs. have fun and enjoy ;)

Congrats.
Lights, tires are the largest major improvements. Also, ask yourself what you want it to do and mod accordingly. Make sure you have had the brake warranty work done.
Mileage ignore. The cost of the poor mileage vs. mileage of say an explorer is negligable with regards to actual cost. It is just more apparent.

EX:
14 mpg over 15000 miles @ $2 a gallon = $2142 in gas.
18 mpg over 15000 miles @ $2 a gallon = $1667 in gas.
About $40 a month difference. Just figure this into the cost of ownership like your car payment or insurance.
$40 a month for typical ownership = $1425 in additional cost for gas over 3 years. Negligable for a $40k vehicle.

How did you like the information that you received from fightingchance.com? It seems like a great service.

Thanks for the warm welcome and useful advice. FIghtingchance.com was worth the investment since this was the first time I was buying a new vehicle. It gave me a lot of insight I would have not recieved before. I feel I got the deal I wanted.
