Might be wrong but it look like white reflective tape over the orange area. Look like the tape is on the outside of the headlights also.

I have to agree with baseballfanz!!! I'm planning on doing mine (open up the headlight and remove yellow/amber reflectors) but I need to get my passenger side replaced cause when I got my PIAA bulbs, as i replaced the hi beams, the bulbs was completely loose and blamed the PIAA as defective but I tried replacing the stocks back and it was the same. I still have to make an appointment with the dealer to have them look at it and have them replace it under warranty.

I planning on doing this. But the only thing I will do is paint part of the housing black.

I'm a member of AcuraZine.com and I smoked/cleared my TL's headlights.... I also did a DIY, which you can find here....

As soon as I get the time I'll tackle this project and post some pics..... I'll basically apply the same method for the Mada.....

Yeah man your TL project looks and came out sweet. How about some carbon fiber in there? So when you baked it the housing just slides right out? How long of a project was this. Now maybe I should purchase some stock ones to play with and do. That's pretty nice man...good job.

I agree, it's just a reflective covering over the amber reflectors. I know of two methods to remove the amber reflectors from the housing. One, you can cut yourself grooves at the back of the housing big enough for the amber plastic to just slide out. You can also use a Dremel tool to cut the amber into small enough pieces while in the housing so that you can pull them out through the hole for the bulb. Both methods can leave plastic material in the housing from cutting the grooves and if not resealed correctly, you're in for some headaches. I think it's a better idea to just get the after market projectors, the amber reflector is almost unnoticeable on these units.
