First I apoligize for the length of this post.. I hope you understand after you have read it. I enjoy this site..It provides a tremendous amount of information and insight. I used it before I purchased my Armada.
Curious if anyone has had a similar experiense with Mossy Nissan in Escondido, Ca.
First I love the Armada.. Even with the 7 dealer visits for defects in 30K miles.( Brakes (twice), Exhaust, Seat(twice), Power Windows, Radio,Pasenger Door) (oh crap why do I keep this vehicle)
I'm an exec and purchased the vehicle for my wife. So I religiouly get the vehicle serviced and the last time was one week ago in preperation of my Pregnant wife going to the mountains with some friends. They repaired one of the two warrenty items and changed the oil.(As part of the oil change they are suppose to check the tires for wear issues and proper inflation). No problems.. Until a few days later the wife complains about the ride. I looked under the vehicle for a leeky shock or something else obvious. Well 3 of the four tires (inside portion of the tire) was worn to the steel belts 90% around the tire. This did not happen in 3 days.
I brought up a wear trend issue 7500 miles ago..They responded there is not a problem. So obviously I was a bit P.O'd that the dealer did not discover this. So I purchased new tires(not from the dealer) that day and went back to the dealer today to discuss it directly with the GM AND SHOW HIM ONE OF THE OLD TIRES. His response was "wow" "I can't believe we did not catch that". There were only two words I was looking for..... He could only come up with "what do you want me to do?" "you needed new tires"
Well after I went ape SH(* for ten minutes. I left.
The words I wanted to hear were "I'm Sorry" and maybe "What can I do to make this right?" He missed the potential liability issue that his dealer would of encountered if my wife had an accident as a result of the tires. I now have a wife that refuses to drive this vehicle because of the safety related issues we have had in the past and this event was the final straw for her.
Unfortunatley Mossy operates all but one Nissan dealer in San Diego county...
Mossy has not seen or heard the last of me yet.
