Took a load of trash to the dump today. Weighed the truck on the way in and way out.

After throwing out 350 pounds of trash and with 500 pounds of adults & kids plus a half tank of gas, the Armada gross weight was a hefty 6120 pounds.

It's a good reminder of why the front brakes have problems and why my gas mileage sucks.

Is your Armada a 4X4? I have a SE two wheel drive, with Big Tow. I went to a public scale and got it weighed, with me in it, little over 1/2 tank of gas, nothing else inside. Total weight was 5,480 lbs. I weigh 260, so the empty weight of my Armada is 5,220. Your empty weight is 5,620. The 400 lbs difference must be due to 4WD.

Yes - it's a 4x4. 400 pounds for transfer case, another drive shaft, front diff and half shafts.

Reality check? Compare the weight of a truck like this to the family tank of yester-year, a very large four door late 70s/early 80s Olds Delta 88. That tipped the scale at a paltry 3800 pounds.
