2019 Armada with roughly 25k miles on it. Recently took my Armada in for an oil change and they said my oil came out “lumpy”. I was quite surprised. For context, we use only Mobile 1 Synthetic and normal driving conditions. We went exactly 7500 miles between changes. I knew we were over the recommended 5k change but not by an extreme amount. I know synthetics are rated usually at 7500 - 10,000 miles and beyond before needing to be changed in most cases. Oil pressure was never an issue, no lights were thrown on the dash, no sounds, bangs, nothing. I checked under the oil cap immediately when they told me and it was clean, and looking in the engine (just under the cap) perfectly clean. I know the best way to check is to pull the head, but I obviously wasn’t doing all that. I should have asked for proof but I didn’t think about it at the time (I was still processing what they told me). Before the oil change I even checked the oil and it was somewhat dirty but not thick. I’m wondering if the tech had the wrong car (big dealership) or if there really was build up. Hard to believe under the circumstances. Any chance of damage after going just 2500 miles over the previous change with synthetic? They told me to change it every 5k miles, but didn’t make a big deal out of it.
