When adding an aftermarket DVD system to an 04 Armada, Is there any benefit connecting directly into the prewired dvd connection rather than the AUX input?

I currently have an aftermarket system installed. It was installed prior to my purchase. Sound only plays through the headsets. I've taken it to an audio shop to have them look at it and they would like to connect through the Aux.

yea the dvd input will let you select dvd with the steering wheel or the rear controls. The only way you can listen to the dvd when hooked to the aux is over the cabin speakers.
