I just installed the Blaupunkt DVD-ME3 into my 2005 Armada using the wiring diagram that llajumpvid left in his recent post and I can't hear any audio even with the volume all the way up. The bose system has DVD selected on the display as well as in the back next to the headphones IR, but there is no sound coming through. Does anyone have any advice?

Thanks

try pusing (and holding) the av button for a couple of seconds to activate the cabin speakers. have you checked to see if the audio is going to the rear IR by using a set of headphones?

sounds like you have something wired wrong maybe? Do you have it hooked up such that you can unplug it and plug into the dash aux jack to make sure your dvd player is working correctly? Sounds like you have the dvd enable correct since it is saying dvd. Sorry it's hard to diagnose a problem over the net:(. Anyway try and confirm that you are getting audio out of the dvd by hooking it into the AUX jack. Do you have an amp that the audio is going through? make sure its powered too. I don't know if it will pass the audio through without being on. I'm just throwing things out. Did you have the harness under the dash or did you have to add wires to the back of the HU?

Thanks llajumpvid

Following your instruction, I was able to hook up to factory harness. Took all but about 15 minutes. Sound much better than thru FM modulator. Ran into a minor problems but was easily solved. When using headphones for rear I got interference because my TV also had its own set of infared. All I did was take off the cover (on the tv) and put some tape across the led that transmitt the signal. :udaman:
One last question, the Blaupunkt ME3 you are using does it have "last position memory"? Right now I'm using an old dvd player that everytime I turn of ignition, I have to start over and search for where the movie was last. Also do you use the TV tuner and how is reception? My tv has a built in tv tuner but reception is not very good, especially while moving. In my previous car I had a cheap $150 T-view monitor that had a great tv tuner (reception was great even while moving). Thanks again.

yes on the last position. TV reception varies, sometimes its great even when moving other times I can't pick up squat. I don't have anything else to compare against so I can't tell you how good or bad it is in comparison. I'd like for it to be better. I drive Westheimer on my commute and the reception there sucks. The other day though coming back from Freeport the reception was nearly cable quality until just inside Houston.

Did you have the factory harness or did you have to add wires? You have an 05 correct?

Baseballfanz,

I'm new to the board and just saw your post. Where the heck did you get that monitor you hooked up? What size and brand is it? Did you hook it up to a stock head unit or did you install something else?

My Armada didn't come with factory DVD and I would like to install a larger monitor in the center of the roof where the factory 7" monitor would go but can't figure out how to do it. Did you just take off the whole console or something. Where did those controls come from?

Thanks for the info...

You did notice Baseball's ride is a Titan? They have a different overhead. Although I would like a screen that big knowing how bad the roof flaps with a 7" screen I wouldn't put anything above maybe a 10" up there.

Yes it's a Titan so I think it's a difference console, but I took that whole console off. The screen is 15" Audivox. It's pretty sturdy up there. A board was mounted to the roof beams, the tv is mounted to that board. The trim around it was custom made, all sounds goes through factory harness as per "llajumvip" instructions. Since the Titan have a smaller roof surface it's working out great, not sure how it would be like on an Armada like "llajumpvid" stated.
