I have only 200 miles are my new Armada and after a car wash, I noticed my wheels were covered in brake dust....or is this just dirt from the road? I thought I had seen a post on here from someone regarding this and how to keep the wheels cleaner. Is brake dust a normal problem or does this mean my brakes are the old brakes that will need to be replaced? I have an '05 that has a build date of June 2005. Thanks for any info! :crikey:

Brake dust has always been a problem on the Armadas and Titans. The new pads that Nissan is installing if you have judder problems seem to make much less dust. You could also install aftermarket ceramic pads, such as the Carbotech(you can get them from MossyPerformance.com, one of our sponsers).
The Carbotech pads reduced my dusting by about 80%, and are better pads than the stock ones.

A couple of coats of good wax, you should be able to spray on wheel cleaner from your local auto store, and hose that brake dust off. A quick pass with a wide brush will take care of any heavy spots, then off to the car wash and you are done.

When I was going into my office today I noticed for Explorer in the front and the wheels on it were cakes with brake dust. It made the brake dust on the Armada look like nothing. It is a problem with alot of SUV's so i have been told. I think it is time to put in ceramic pads.
