Brake Problems

2250 Views 7 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  NorCalJay
I'm new here.. I recently took my new 05 Armada in for the brakes at 4000 miles. Rotors had to be cut. Started again at 4700 miles. Dealer said that they are not cutting the rotors anymore. Contacted Nissan they said dealer is getting the new parts. Dealer said that is not the case, they are getting a few at a time. Supposely the new rotos are being sent to the factory for the 2006 Armadas & Titans. Can Anyone tell me how they can sell these vehicles knowing that there is problem like this without being upfront. Also have you tried calling Nissan customer service.. what a joke..

Try another dealer. Its a warranty issue with a TSB on it. Dealers can order the parts and have them stocked at the dealership. Your dealer sounds lame. He should be keeping a supply at the repair area and replenishing them as they are used. :thumbdown
same here.. but my dealer told me yesterday that there are 25 people in front of me... so at 2700 miles they re-did the rotors... next time they will do it again...
what if they get to the point where they can't be cut anymore and they don't have the new rotors in stock??
what would happen then? LOL

I'm sure they will catch up soon enough. Factory has priority. However, each new one fixed is one less needing fixing. Should clear up in a month or two if you can't find them now. Check your nearby Nissan and Infiniti dealers for the parts, not just one guy. They are in stock around here, or at least they were. :chillpill
lol... will do... There are many nissan dealers and I will start checking around.

That pills looks yummy :)

I bought the truck new from that dealer. Nissian should fix the problem asap. They sent the truck out from the factory with the wrong size rotors. I don't have the time to go from dealer to dealer and I shouldn't have too. I set up for tomorrow 7-19 for the rotors to be cut again. And for the fifth time I'll get there and they say, sorry we are not cutting the rotors no more. And again I call Nissan USA and get the message that their lines are getting to many calls. After many attemps I'll finally get through and leave a message for my assigned case worker, who hasn't called back in three weeks.. getting a little tired.
you don't have to tell me.
mine started at 2700 miles.. and my truck is an 05 , built in April.

How could they still have been sending them out with small rotors in April of 05.

there's nothing more that can be done though, and getting upset will not help, i don't think..

just hang in there and they will get your parts soon enough... and my parts for that matter.

It just makes me upset, when I bought the truck, 1 month ago, I was assured they had the new rotors... shows what a sucker I am... not have it in writting...
05' 8k miles: brake judder (5k) & no cold ac ever.

When I made the appt the original service rep said he'll get me in line for the new rotors, but I couldn't remember his name so when I went in I got stuck with another service rep....soooo

my brakes were just cut today. crap. I balked but they have to go thru the motions. AND the Armada will stay at dealer for 3rd day since they had to "wait" for a new supply of freon to address the no AC issue.

This sucks.

At least they're paying for the rental car...
