I Just Purchased The Nissan Factory Bug Shield For My 2005 Armada, While Reading The Instructions I Did Not Like The Fact That I Have To Use The 3m Protective Tape Supplied And "bang" On The Metal Support Over The Tape To Support The Shield, And Use Protective Tape Where The Rubber Touches The Hood. Does Anyone Know Any Other Companies Out There That Provide A Bug Shield That Does Not Use This Method?

Hi and welcome,

I purchased mine from the dealer as well, and am very happy with it, no scratches or any other problems, the install was breez, and if you noticed the 3M tape actually thick enough to withstand the rubbing of the metal clamps. I have seen other brands which clamps only to the bottom of the hood, but it will be freestanding on the lip of the hood, I think I saw it here on this forum. if not check out clubtitan.com forum they might have it there. sorry couldn't be much help. ;)

Most people get Lund bug shields. Don't know the attachment method. ;)

I have had the Nissan shield on for 26,000 miles with no problems, and no damage to the hood. I think the Nissan shield is the best fitting. There was sure no problem installing, you don't "bang" anything on.

I've been wanting to get one of these. Does Nissan offer it in Chrome or just the smoked plastic? Do you mind sharing what the cost was?

Thanks
The lund one is available in stainless steel. ;)
