Mine at 45mph and at 75+ mph on certain roads would make a "fluttering" sound. Kind of like with the windows open, but they were closed. It makes the pressure in your ears flutter- thus the complaints. Some people were getting headaches. As far as I know anything built after May 2004 didn't have the issue.

Thanks, I do not hear the flutter but at high speeds with the 3rd row windows open I hear a pulse. That should be normal?

With the windows open obviously you're going to hear some flutter. Another way to test whether you have the roof problem is to look at your roof while slamming one of your rear doors. My roof used to shake like crazy (up and down) when I did that. After the fix not nearly as much.

Its normal to have this. If you open the rear windows or even rear door windows it will dissipate. Happens in all cars, more so the larger you get.

Do the window visors help that at all?
No. Its an air pressure difference. Opening the rear windows allows the air to go somewhere. Without them open, the speed of the vehicle is pressing the air into the cabin with nowhere for it to go. This pressure fluctuation creates the boom. Visors would make no difference.

I've been driving my late '04 and never heard any boom. Last week, I picked up a friend from the airport, as soon as I got on the freeway, he started to freak out and say he had a headache and stuff. He said the boom was intense. He's the only one to complain about it. I told him he had to be a dog or something to hear it.
Must affect different people differently.

On certain freeways, I can detect some minor boom in my 06. With my old 04, it was almost intolerable along the same stretch of freeway.

But you may get the boom! Underneath in the back, in the rocker panels/fenders behind the tires you will find little grates. inside the grates are baffles made out of what feels like inner tube material. These vents are to release air pressure that causes the boom (cabin outflow vents). Like having the door open on a turbo prop on the ground with the engines running. If they get gooped up and can't flow enough air, then you get the pressure on the ears. If they flow freely and the back is not full of stuff, then you don't have to open the rear speed brake windows to relieve the pressure...
