What's best way to clean Armada engine. I haven't done this since the days of wrapping the distributor cap in plastic wrap and using degreaser with a strong hose.
I'm hoping there's a better way.
Anyone clean there engine yet safely?

Simple........... Green

Spritz Simple Green on everything you want clean and spray off with hose. After that wipe down anything that you want really pretty (water spots) with clean rag. I have used Simple Green on all my motorcycles & trucks and it works great and harms nothing. The more often you do it the better it looks. Everybody that sees the engine compartment of my 1990 4Runner cannot believe that it has a bazillion miles on it. It also makes it real nice to work on & to spot oil leaks. This method takes very little effort/time/money and it does not harm environment.

Oh yes, only do this to a cold/luke warm engine.
AND
No power wash or Silicon based sprays/gels, etc. ;)
Thanks for all the pointers. Looks like Simple green and a towel should do the trick.
I'm mainly afraid of getting water into something I shouldn't.

Is there anywhere not to spray hose? I assume not up the intake manifold, or ??
No trouble for me

No jet stream, well maybe just at nasty spots.

My Armada is 4wd and goes off road pretty regular, if a little H2O is going to stop it, I want to know about it in my driveway not in some water crossing out in the middle of nowhere. I discovered a bad (cracked) o-ring in my 4Runner distributor cap seal by washing it, much easier to fix at home.
