I have about 22,000 miles on my '04 LE and I am being told I need to replace all four of the Contis which came with the truck (I have had the truck about a year now). Has anyone else experienced the same type of problem? If so, any other tires you could recommend that would have a longer durability?

If you are doing mostly highway driving I would suggest the Michelin Cross Terrain SUV tires. They have a excellent wear rating, and are smooth and quite on the road. They do make it in the 265-70-18; some dealers may not have them listed, but they are availble.

I'm having problems with my tires at 3,100 miles (Continentals)

I just noticed that my right front tire is feathering???? What the....?

I know the vehicle is big, and I make some hard left turns to pull into my garage and my parking spot at work, but c'mon already. I may just buy new ones. It sounds like the Michelin Cross Terrains are well liked.

Low quality poor tires. I have mine with no miles sitting in my garage. Get real tires. The Michelin are a decent choice. There are also some Yokohamas that are good, and BFG has my personal favorite, the BFG All Terrain in 285-65-18. ;)
All will be quieter, handle better, ride smoother, and should last longer than 25K.

Aren't those crappy stock Conti. tires are warrantied to get 50,000 miles out of them? Correct me if I am wrong here.
Yes, you are wrong. There is no mileage warranty on the tires.

Yes, after 30,000 miles, my tires are worn too... specially the front tires.
On those tires the outboard (away from the center line when viewed from the top) side of the tires are severely worned out..made me suspect maybe my wheel alignment is bad as well.

Common problem. Many people have compained about the factory alignment. ;)

That's what I was wondering..... Could it be alignment? The front left tire is fine, though.

I'm taking the 'Mada this week for an oil change. I'll have them check the alignment then.

I only have 5005 miles on my 05 armada le 4x4 and noticed the strange tire wear. I had the alignment checked twice by my local Nissan dealershihp and also Big O tires and they told me and gave me the printout that it was in specifications. After all that, they all came to the conclusion that I have tire pull. My steering wheel is slightly pointed to the right and have to correct it by steering to the left. It also slightly pulls to the right on a straight/flat road. They said I have to take it up with Continental tire and go to a tire store that sells that brand. What a crock! At least the local dealer did their best to help me out. They even rotated my wheels and checked the alignment again. No luck. Tire/radial pull. What do you guys think? Does that sound logical? Now I guess I'll just drive them until they're gone and replace them with BF Goodrich. A little pricey but well worth the money. I sort of wish I would have purchased this vehicle with the 17 inch rims. There are a lot more options in tires. Anyway, I know what you're talking about-treadwear.

Thanks for the tip.

After years of experimenting with other brands, I've decided that the superiority of Michelin tires justifies the price.

Tires or suspension?

So the question is..... Are the tires the problem or is it the suspension. I keep hearing that these tires are junk and I guess I agree because of the poor wear I have gotten. They will need replaced at 30,000 miles. With only 3 choices in the stock tire size (Contis, Good years, Michelins) the choice seems easy. What I need to know is if others that have already switched the stock tires out are still having strange wear. I don't want to pay $160 a piece for the Michelins only to have them wear uneven and prematurely. I have one tire that is balding right down the middle. The other three are all worn on the inner edge more than the outer.

New rears @8k

The inside edge of both my rear tires were GONE at 8k miles Dublin Nissan put 2 new tires on free and sent it out for a full alignment. They said the camber was off. I think it was from towing heavy loads with junk tires. The good news is I have 2 new tires, the bad news they are junk and will probably do the same thing again. We do not have a lot of miles on our Armada, but almost all of them are towing. My wife drives the 4Runner and I ride my motorcycle during the week until it starts raining a lot, then I will have the Toy mostly.

Hello everyone, I was whining on page one and wanted to update you on my Continental tire issue. They never emailed me about my complaint. All they, Continental, did was send me a survey and that was all. I did however, go to my local Big O tire store in Livermore and had a alignment done and guess what, all four tires were not in alignment /factory spec. I thought I told my wife to bring it in while I went fishing but all she did was go shopping. I had Superior Nissan in Fremont check it twice and they assured me that it was aligned. If they did check it, their machine is bad or they didn't do it at all. So I'm starting to think that the dealership was just trying to push the issue to the tire manufacturer and knew that they would end my crooked steering wheel and pull. Bottom line, that dealer/service department and Continental's customer service pretty much stinks! Just my 2 cents. Thanks for listening.
