How does one take off that upsidedown u shaped piece of dash board trim thats right in the center of my dash. It goes around the middle speaker and travels all the way down the sides of the center counsol. I have a terrible rattle when travling over bumps. If I could just know how to pop it off I could mount some felt tape on the back to get rid of the noise. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Yes that looks correct. It looks like the cluster lid with all the bells and whistles attached.Cluster lid D is what I am going for. I certainly didnt think that it was that involved though, yikes. When going over bumpy roads I can hear the whole thing creak and crack. When I push my hand agaisnt the front of it, it stops. Is this something that I should have them do or can you guys walk me through it. It looks like the radio center panel comes off first and then I go for the big pieces?

Holly crap. I just thought that maybe down the road I could buy the panel cover with the nav housing in it and mount my tv in there. Has anyone done that? I currently have it on a small stand in that recessed part of the dash. But first help me pull off my dash and stop that damn squeak.

Its really not that involved. Remove the lower dash parts and glove box and the console over the shifter. There are a few screws I believe around the dash that connects the front of the floor console to the dash. Once you get things removed to where you can see the bottom of the "D" piece start at the bottom of it and give it a "good faith" tug and the clips will release. I suspect if you just remove the piece with the radio controls you might be able to see what is causing the rattle without removing that piece. If you have warranty I'd make the dealer take care of it. Just take a bunch of pictures of your dash and console with a newspaper to date the photo's so that if the scratch the hell out of things you have proof of what it looked like before.

Scooter,

Did you have any luck getting that rattle fixed? I have a similar problem and was wondering if you were able to silence it for good!
