There was a very good thread over at TT regarding different exhaust systems, complete with the dyno numbers ran by one of the members over there. I remember him saying that from his testing and data that our engines like back pressure - too free flow of a system actually hurt hp.

so does the exhaust make much more noise than the CAI?? does it feel faster with the gibson exhaust?? im actually concerned with hp to noise ratio..dont want it louder thatn the injen CAI....

Agreed!!

phish: I have the Injen CAI and Gibson cat-back and couldn't be happier. I was looking for a nice, quiet exhaust and found it in the Gibson. Gibson also claims a decent HP gain too - so that's a plus! You won't be disappointed.

Good luck!

The exhaust is not louder than the intake. The exhaust has a smooth deep sound, and you don't hear it inside like most.
phish - I pm'd you back.

But for everyone else around these parts...

What JB said is correct - the exhaust is not louder than the intake. The Gibson gives off a slight rumble and no drone. In my opinion, it's perfect.

Oh, and I don't know if I'm just imagining things, but I swear the Gibson exhaust actually made the Injen CAI quieter!! I put the Injen on about a week before the exhaust and could have sworn it was louder before the exhaust.

Good luck phish - let us know how you like it.
