I promised some sound clips - here they are. So not only did I learn about after market exhausts this weekend, I learned how to post and link a video on YouTube - never had a reason until now :)

I was so focused on clips of the sound that I failed to record at steady cruise - take my word for it, just a nice purr, no noticeable drone that some have been concerned about on this thread.

I'm very happy - nice looks, nice sound, and power to boot - if you watch carefully in my first hard accel you can see my camera dipped back because I was not fully braced hehe

One cool thing that sort of surprised me - at end of video you can hear the throttle opening when I rev'd a bit - that is new, almost the same sound as a CAI which I don't have.

I'm still a bit concerned about how close the additional left pipe is near spare tire - I adjusted it a bit today, got the clearance over an inch everywhere - I guess I'll just monitor it over next few weeks, unless anyone has any advise?

That looks killer. I am gonna talk to my local shop and check the price for them to build it.
If you are concerned with the heat from the exhaust. I would just buy some DEI heat wrap. It's made for headers. I have my long tubes on my GMC wrapped and it brought down under hood temps. Just make sure to soak the header wrap in water before wrapping or you will be itching. Shouldn't cost more than 20 bucks.

thanks everyone for the compliments, glad you liked the little clip - I'm still very happy with this mod
woww thats a good sound. nice.... do you hear some drone cdninaz in cab?
no drone of any significance to report but I've only driven it once since install and that was for the video I posted, damn work interfering since then :( My wife has driven it more - she says to tell you "it is just a nice purr" at steady cruise. I still need to get it out on interstate to see what it's like at 75 or so;) but I can say up to 55 it is fine.

I got a great deal as I noted in my first post above because somebody's wife did not like the sound on QX56, but as I wrote at previous post above it is on Stillen website for $618 with free shipping. Do the install yourself - it was really easy, even on a floor creeper.

thanks for that advise, I'll do that for the section close to spare, probably not necessary but for $20 I'll do it to be safe

what about seat of the pants performance?
well the only thing I have to go by is "ye ol butt meter", and it registered a most definite boost. Dunno, I'd say it lives up to Stillen claims for increased hp, good enough for me anyway :D Just hope my wife does not prove hp increase with a speeding ticket because her comments make me think she's been putting her foot down

Soooo, its finally time for me to buy something and I'm really having a hard time deciding between the Borla and JBA. I do go off-roading in the summer and my under carriage takes a beating. What do you guys think would give me more clearance? Single(side exit) or dual(rear exit) exhaust? I'm leaning toward the rear exhaust but I wanted to see if anyone here has experience with that. BTW, my stock muffler tip is already bent up:(

I'm still very happy with my dual rear exit Stillen, but as I noted at one of my posts above, it does sacrifice some clearance on the departure angle. Think of a line drawn between where tires meet ground and bottom of rear bumper. Hitch if you have it extends below that line, but who cares, dragging the hitch receiver is just a zero cost warning that you are getting close :) Now my duals hang just a bit lower than that point, so gotta be careful. If visualize the side exit up behind the tire - it lies well above that imaginary line - so I'd say side exit will always be more clear than rear. One side note - I have not measured it exactly or researched but just looking at Mada tells me approach angle is much less than departure anyway. So I figure if I get in without dragging air dam, then I'll get out without dragging my nice new stainless pipes ;)

I've sold every exhaust known to man for the Armada and QX. Either do the Gibson or JBA, or if you have the funds to do the Borla dual, remember, it's over double the cost, do the Borla. For price factory, the Gibson and JBA are the best for the money spent. You can read more about all of them on our website below.

I would honestly rather have the Borla(not super concerned about cost) but I'm worried about clearance because I've definitely dragged my hitch reciever before... Matter of fact, the plug where the brakes lights for a trailer plugs in, is bent up towards the bumper:(

CDN, so are you saying that the pipes hang lover than the hitch reciever?

yes, they hang lower than the receiver. Also out to the rear a bit more which cuts into the departure angle. I rotated them outwards on their hangers which brought them up a bit. More bending at certain points would probably tuck them up a bit more, but I'm not concerned so won't bother going to a shop for mandrel bending.

Damn, looks like I'll be going with the JBA then, I really wanted dual pipes:(

CDN, where did you get your skid plates? Do you have any pics of them?

got them from dealer, they are stock on SE Offroad, so can retrofit the LE directly. Gunslinger420 (Fred) had given PNs at the thread linked in my sig below, or here is direct link. I just took three pics a few minutes ago and posted them at that same thread that gave me the idea. Same link, or here is a direct link to pics

besides purchasing the exhaust, did you also have to replace the gasket where the pipes meet the headers?
well not sure "had to" but I usually replace gaskets whenever I crack most things open, unless they are outrageous cost. These were only something like $6 each x two, but I got dealer to throw them in with deal described at my post above.

Jason,

I finally decided to place an order for the JBA single exit exhaust but I never got a receipt?
