Less than a week into the Armada experience and the DVD player intermittently pauses and occasionally displays a "Disk Format Error" on the screen. This happens for several DVD's so we know it's not the actual disk. The dealer looked at it and told us that the unit was losing power; Whatever that means  I consider myself to be a pretty decent troubleshooter so this had better come with a healthy explaination. So far the Service Dept has been alright to deal with. Anyways, I'll keep the collective informed as to the root cause/resolution.

A quick follow-up to my story. My wife took the Armada to North Texas Nissan today to fix the DVD player. It was in previously diagnosed as "losing power" to the DVD. Wellllllll, after them having the truck all day, we were told that there was nothing wrong with the DVD player. My wife threw a fit! She let the poor Service Dpt money taker person have a piece of her mind. "Nothing wrong! You told me to schedule time with you so that you could have the truck longer to diagnose the problem and you still found nothing!!! And you didn't even bother calling me at work to tell me. My expectation was that this would be fixed when I came to pick it up!!!". That got some attention. The Service Manager was called and so was the same Technician who worked on it the prior time. He remembered working on it and both agreed to just have the unit replaced.

The funniest part was of the whole scenario was listening to my 7 year old daughter explain the problem to the Service folks. After all, she's the real end-user of the DVD player. I guess North Texas Nissan's willingness to just be done with it through replacement keeps us happy.
