Same here for 2005 with 2500 miles. I haven't experienced a warping problem yet, but I'll be keeping an eye(or foot) out for it.

I believe that Nissan went to the "smoked" rims for 05 to somewhat "hide" the brake dust appearance on the rims.

Carbotech question

1. If you install the carbotechs, will Nissan hassle you when it is time for the Big brake recall?

2. Where do you get them and how much are they (I can always put the stock pads back in before getting the recall, this dust problem is the pits)?

3. Do they make front and rear?

Get the Carbotech pads from Greg at mossyperformance.com (one of our sponsers). You need only the front pads.

If you go in for brake jutter and they turn your rotors, they also put in new pads. Nissan won't care if you have Carbotechs, but they will throw them away and put in OEM pads.

I'm waiting for the new larger rotors before I change my pads. I can't wait to get rid of all the black gunk all over my wheels.

I have started to notice the brake jutter after 3500 miles on my 05 Se. However, I do not really have a problem with brake dust on the wheels. Even after a full week of driving to work (25 miles each way) the wheels barely show and dust. The 03 Expedition that I got ride of would have the wheels totally black by the end of a week.

Do you have the smoke wheels or the regular silver ones. I've got the silver ones on my '04. Although the are usually grey until I wash the car.

When you get the 'countermeasures kit' for the front brake shudder, then the new pads seem to be a lot less dusty.
Armorall on the wheels is a pain. It's best to use an old sock over your hand, spray the sock and then wipe the tire.

Has anyone tried the EBC Greenstuff pads yet? They have them for the Armada and I know what I am comparing it to is like apples and oranges, but I installed them on my 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer and what a difference! Very little brake dust as well.

As soon as I get my "new" brakes put in, which is soon, the first thing I'm doing is ordering the Carbotech pads. They're $89 on the carbotech.com website.
I know these work because my friends got them on his Suburban and loves 'em.

4th times a charm!

I'm going in for my 4th rotor replacement tommorow. Hope this is the final fix but have realistically lost hope. Each time they claim to have "new parts" which have lasted 2500 miles at the most. Although, the first set of new rotors and pads did get rid of the brake dust. I've heard of people "lemon-lawing" some '04 armada's but I won't since i actually love this car.
