full-size gm wheels

Hey all - I've lurked for only about a week. I also tried the search, I swear!!!! I have a chevy silverado (SS fwiw), and I absolutely love it, except for one thing - interior space, lol! I have a wife and a kid (with one on the way), and a couple of nieces that love to ride w/me and crank my sound system.

Anyway..........you could imagine how an extended cab truck could get a little cramped  I love the speed of my truck, and that's exactly what is swaying me toward the armada. A lot of the tests and reviews, etc. have shown the armada to be only slightly slower than my 345hp, lighter-weight truck! WOW! Now, the SS isn't exactly a ford lightning, or a dodge ram srt-10, but it def. holds its own, ya know! Even some of the guys on my silverado ss web forum that have street-raced armadas and titans have much respect for them - even though they've beaten them ;) .

Okay, enough about the SS, here's my question: Will my aftermarket wheels fit the armada w/out alteration? It's 6- lug 5.5" bolt pattern, but I seem to recall someone on here saying he thought you'd have to alter them somehow (can't find the exact post now  ) Also, IIRC he never got a definite answer. So what do you guys know? I spent a few g's on these damn 24's (no flaming, please  ), so I'd like to keep 'em, ya know? If they'll fit, I'll most likely be buying an armada real soon. If not, I'll get a 2007 tahoe in Jan.

Please help, as I'm test-driving the armada tomorrow, and i don't wanna like it too much if i'm not gonna consider getting it. Thanx in advance!

Wheels

Not sure if the wheels will fit, but I can't imagine basing a decision on buying a vehicle on whether a certain set wheels will fit it. Good luck on the test ride, it is a hell of a truck!
The wheels have the same bolt pattern. The Armada stock 18" wheel is 8" wide, the 17" is 7.5. The offset is +25 mm. You need to be close to this to not have caliper clearance problems. The only way to know for sure is try one of your 24s to see if it will clear the calipers and if the tires will clear.

P.S. My Armada runs the 1/4 in 14.69 sec, 0-60 in 6.106. How much quicker is your SS?

Yeah, I know it seems odd, but I can't afford another set of 24's, and I know I'm not rolling on stock wheels, EVER . Sure, I guess I could prolly sell 'em and get some more, but you never get what u paid for 'em, right? I always liked the armada, but I'll admit I am(was) GM-biased. lol! It would just be a plus if the wheels fit, nahmean?

Hell, not THAT quick. Although I've never been to the track w/my SS, the heavier rims would prolly not let me see those times.lol! That IS fast though. Those aren't stock times are they? If not, what did u do?

Not a lot , really. I have the Volant CAI, Airaid TBS, Gibson 3" single cat back and have the initial timing kicked up 2 degrees. Running stock 18" wheels and tires, regular 87 gas. With me on board the Armada weighs 5,480 lbs. The Armadas have a speed limiter set at about 114 mph. Mine will run 116.9 mph. That was still in third gear.

Niiiiiice. See - THAT'S what i'm talkin' about. With only minor mods, this big-ass truck can move pretty good. It's probably a bit of a sleeper, huh? ;)

The new tahoes aren't even offered w/the 6.0 that's in my truck (5.3 is the biggest engine option ), nor the new 6.2 that gm will be putting in the yukon and escalades(400 hp for the 'Lade!!! :damn: ) Sooo, that means that the tahoe will prolly never be as fast as my SS, OR the armada (I'm not really into heavy modding for speed), which is one of the reasons i loved my truck in stock form so much.

I dunno, it looks like the armada is gonna be the winner. And...... I see maybe 1 or 2 armadas or qx56's per week (strangely enough more infinitis!. ) - If that! But, I see a tahoe/yukon/escalade/avalanche/ at least what, 50 per day -no exagerration (I live in the Motor City). I've always liked the exclusivity of the SS. I'm sure the armada will give me that, at least 'round here. Of course Southern Cali is a different story.lol!!

Anybody have any ideas as to when Nissan may bring out a new bodystyle for the 'mada? Just curious?

Im guessing probably not if they do change the bodystyle im pretty sure it'll only be minor cuz this design has only been around for a little bit. If you go to titan talk some guy over there raced an SS with his stock titan won and got his license taken away for it. Both are extremely fast trucks. O yea SCR38 how did you get your timing up and where did ya do it? Sorry for asking you question all the time man . :D
The 24's will fit . I had a GMC Yukon with Foose 24's. I had to put a 1/4" spacer on the front to clear the rotors. I got the spacer at Autozone for $5 for the front pair. The offset is the difference in the two wheels. Here is a pic of my wheels on both trucks.

Thanks! That's just what i was looking for. How's the ride on the armada? The same? Also, do you like the armada better than the yukon?

I had my timing advanced by the Nissan tech while I was having some service work done. He didn't charge me anything. The advance must be done with the Consult 2. Below is the procedure:

Warm up vehicle.
On CONSULT 2 screen choose ENGINE
After communication with Convertor will display a bunch of choices.
Press WORK SUPPORT
See more choices, press TARGET IGN TIMING
Press UP x2 for 2 degrees, correction which you should be able to see.
Press UPDATE.
Now press BACK
On the menu screen find IDLE AIR VOL LEARN.
Press, and perform to correct your idle since you just raised it 75rpm with timing advance.

I like the ride and room for my family in the Armada better than the Yukon.

The only drawback has been going to the dealer to get all of the little things fixed again and again, nothing major though.

Those wheels are 10x better looking on the Armada. They just scale so much better and fit the body.
Thanks,

I do like them better on the Armada.
