This is normal. You will also hear the servo motors close the A/C dampers.

This is perfectly normal. The system is doing some kind of diagnostic. You should also hear the fresh air vents closing as well.

EDIT: Guess SCR38 beat me to it. You posted while I was on the phone. And I was trying to sound like the smart guy.

If you dig into the manuals you'll see a few reasons for the computer increasing the idle - normally due to an electric or mechanical load (air conditioner is the big one). The truck also idles fast until warm.

If it bothers you - you can always go to NAPA and retrofit a carb and a manual choke.

Wow I was about to upload this video to youtube and post it here.. I was in the car and I noticed the same thing as well.. it happens after you shut the car down. I feel better now that I know it's normal.
