Getting Tow Ready

So yesterday, I decided to look at how my 2005 QX56 sits with the travel trailer connected. This is just dropped onto the ball. No weight distribution. I have my air shocks and air bags connected via on air source (I have bypassed the non working self leveling system). So I am limited by the air bags 35psi max rating. With that 35psi, across the system I am still sitting a little low, so I will need to add some air to the shocks to bring it up. This was an experiment. Now I know I have to separate the two systems. Today I just purchased an Equalizer WDH, and will set that up next weekend.

I know that the helper air bags should only be inflated so far (35 psi). I heard somewhere that the air shocks run much higher, but I don't know at all what that is.
That weight distribution hitch should really help to finish it all of nicely!

As I shared earlier, I picked up an Equalizer WDH for towing the travel trailer. This thing is a beast. Last night I did some more research. For my needs, for my wife to be able to hook up and go, I am going to take the Equalizer back, and go get an Andersen. This will be more user friendly fo my wife, along with adding and electric tongue jack.

I had my Redarc Towpro Liberty brake controller installed at the same place that was fixing my trailer wiring. I decided to have it mounted in the control knob in the 4WD Hole cover. When I got home I realized the push button control would not push in.

Well, it looked good but did not work, as the material was too thick to allow the the manual activation of the brakes. The knob doubles as a push button. At home I did not have a good way of thinning the plastic and would have to wait until I got back to work and put it in a lathe. Too much time. I decided to model one up & 3D print it.
