I just rode on the passenger side for the first time after dark and noticed the glove compartment light stays on when the vehicle's exterior lights are on. There was no trigger that I could find to tell the light whether the door is shut or not, but as far as I can tell, the thing stays on anyway.

Has anybody else noticed this or do I have a problem?

It is on as long as the headlights/parking lights are on. Kinda strang of them to do it that way but it is always on.

I had this prob. The dealer replaced the entire glove box.
Why? Was there a problem with the box itself? As lrohr12 said, the glove box light is on whenever exterior lights are on. There is no switch.
