Just wanted to introduce myself. I've been watching this forum for several weeks and have found the information both useful and amusing.
I currently drive an 01 4Runner and am in the market for a new vehicle. I'm a huge Toyota proponent but was put off by the high price to lack of creature comforts in the Sequoia so a friend recomended I look at an Armada.
After taking a test spin, I must say I was quite impressed.
I have a lead on an 05 LE at my local stealer they've offered it to me at $3500 below invoice. Only thing preventing me from snatching it up is it's white which is my least favorite color. And I am holding out to take a look at the 07 Toyota FJ Cruiser when it comes out later this month.
I know, I know, the Armada and the FJ are apples to bowling balls but I still want to have a look see.
Anyhoo, Just wanted to say hi and look forward to hearing some feedback in my decision.

Dealers in my area (So Cal) are offering pretty close to that for 06's right now (after the $2500 rebate). I think you can do much better for a left-over 05, or buy an 06. 7500 miles on mine, no problems or issues.

You sure you want a first year run of that FJ? On a car like that, I'd wait a year or two. Armada is more BANG for your dolla.

At the risk of being flamed, we're still talking Toyota quality. You can't go no better. I know, I know....remember the Previa. I think the FJ will become the hottest selling SUV out there. The real problem I have with buying it is I've never even sat in one let alone driven it. Main concern is the rear seat legroom and that half door to access it. By contrast, the Armada has more leg room than a 1st class plane seat, hands down.

I've been waiting to see the FJ since it came out as concept vehicle in 03 so 1 more week won't kill me.
I agree with you about the bang for your buck though. I hate like hell to pay MSRP! I'm the cheapest guy I know.

I thought Nissan had great quality too based on my first year model of the Xterra......But the Armada was nothing like the "Xterra, I was at the dealer almost every week for 4 months then every other month for about the next 6. I will never ever buy a first year model again based on my experience. I love my Armada now that I got most of the rattles/squeeks and brakes fixed though. Unless something dramatically different than what is currently out there and similar in size to the Armada comes out in the next couple of years I'll be buying another.
