i just did a xcountry move, form fl to wa ,,

right before i moved i bought a 06 le, everything 'cept 4x4.

no i am thinking that i shoul dhave gotten the 4x4, but the option wasn't availible to me at the time ,, (reason i would go into , but will wait till later)

well being up here i have noticed a bit of difference in the climate, road conditions ,,,etc.. which is to be expected,,,

well,,,, now when i look around , and drive i wishes that i had bought 4x4, or i wanting too,,

got off the phone with a dealer near by,, they said they would do a one for one trade for my le with another le , but no nav, dvd, rear camera, and maybe a few other optionsi can;t think of atm, i think i would have to lose the second seat bench , which i do not want to do ,,,,

or should i trade-up , if i can find the model/option and the dealer willing,, or would it even be worth it??

i dont want to go after market 4x4, i would void the warranty ,, which i do not want to do

i dont care about the so called loss of gas milage when gaing 4x4 ,, lol,, if i would have been considering gas milage ,, i would have gotten a echo,, lol,,

anyone here think that this is a good idea or not??

wished i would have taken a little bit more time during the intial purchase, and had gotten 4x4..... errrgh,,,

thanks for any suggestion and comments,,

Yeah that's unfortunate that you didn't get 4wd. I'm from Washington and 4wd'n on the weekends was a regular thing for me as a kid. I don't know how accomadating a dealer would be to trading in your truck but I'm sure you'll be able to work something out that's reasonable. I'm not sure what your hobbies are but if you're gonna do anytime in the mountains a big heavy 2WD/RWD SUV isn't going to be much fun. If your just concerned about the daily commute I'll bet you'll adapt quickly and realize that 4wd is not necessary to just to get to the job. Tough decision but if you got the cash and get a good deal go for it!!

well i just bought the truck on nov 18th,, we still haven't even made the first payment yet ,,

i dont like dealing with the finance people and stuff like that ,, maybe every few years or so do i like dealing with those types,,

i just dont want to lose my ass if i have to trade up ,, or lose the options i have now, if i went with a 4x4 se,, leather, dvd, nav, Big Tow,

ii can always go aftermarket and do the installs myself,, but just like how it all fits together under the warranty scheme of things,,

i dont use this truck as a daily commuter,, got the civic for that,, but i only live bout 3 miles max from work ,, so either way i wouldn't be out to much on milage,,

but i do outdoors stuff,, and when my youngest gets a little older, we plan on getting out in the woods and camping, canoing, plus i wil lbe looking into a boat soon aswell ,, maybe even a camper,, skiing ,, etc... you name it ,, last thing i want is to get caught up in some so , or be sliding aournd on some mountain somewhere,,,

well i have gone on for enough now,,

thanks for the replies, comments and suggestions

Well Chris from the sounds of it you might just want to bite the bullet and start talkin to dealers about getting a 4WD. Not sure what part of WA you moved too but pretty much anywhere in the western part of the state gets pretty rugged off the state highways. To do the kinds of things your talkn's about with the kid I'm sure everyone on this board would recommend having that 4WD option to get out of stickey situations. We've got some great guys on this site and I suggest starting a new thread titled "looking for a good dealer in Washington" or somewhere near the city you are in. Hopefully your finance peeps will work with you if they know your intention is to trade in your new for newer. Good luck bro!!

well,, no go on getting the trade here,,

they wanted to low ball me on my month old Le ,, and then tried to jack up the price on the 4x4 Le ,, both have tech pckg and dvd,, etc...

also tried to play ping png with the sales man ,, after once of that ,, i told them no,, and left ,, i am getting this feeling that i will get a call back , and they will reach my price,,

wasn't getting that goo dfeeling that i had that got when i purchased my current LE ,,

guess i will keep this one,, i am happy with it over all , just wished i had taken just a bit more time,, and equipped it with everything,, oh well,,

Chris, hang in there bud!! You know these are all standard dealer tactics to get you to buy today, pay today. Something tells me they will come around to a reasonable deal as long as they can make a buck off of it. Fact is what they may give up selling you a new 4wd they will more than make up for on your trade and they know it.
